Data Project: DPG Digital Media places data journalism in the foreground

DPG Digital Media proudly presents its new journalistic endeavor, titled Data Project. Thorough journalistic research, in-depth reporting, interviews, and exclusivities are presented for the first time, based on reliable and original research conducted by Data Project’s experienced journalistic team.

Nowadays, in the digital age, Data Journalism is a powerful tool, especially in terms of the communication of information: Infographics, videos, journalistic content that is built piece by piece, ultimately provide the final result which is, none other than, the desired interaction with the readers. The meticulous design, cutting edge computer science and statistics work in unison with the journalistic part of the content, in order to channel the information in the most ideal way.

The experienced Data Project team, consists of selected DPG Digital Media Journalists that inform and entertain readers, touching on a variety of subjects such as: Politics, Economy, Society, Health, Science, Culture, Environment and Sports.

At the head of this newly established department, is Project Manager Sofia Mavrantza (Branded & Premium Content Manager), under the guidance of Media Director George Mitrofanis. Additionally, the Data Project team comprises of: Dimitris Pefanis, Director of Financial and Business Content, Amalia Kantzou, head of Political Reporting, Thanasis Koukakis, Financial Reporting Editor, Dimitris Mallas Technology Editor, Natassa Spagadorou, Health Editor and the experienced freelance reporters Costas Pliakos, Chryssa Griva and Costas Mavraganis. All Infographics are designed by Zoe Katsigianni and Despina Gabriel serves as the Senior Product Manager. The Web Development and Design of the project is undertaken by the Group’s dedicated Creative Hub, with the indispensable contribution of Multimedia BU for the production of videos, podcasts, etc.

Data Project is already "on the air" throughout DPG Digital Media’s network, including the following notable pieces: A thorough report on vaccinations, an in depth financial development special, an analysis of the new Bankruptcy Code, a tribute to the historical film Eudokia, a flashback to the Fall of Constantinople, a Tourism reloading special as well as the dedicated microsite in honor of the bicentennial anniversary of the Greek revolution, which served as the springboard for the project.
